Scope of Indian Nurses and Doctors to work in Germany

First and foremost your qualifications must be recognized in Germany, You must have a German language certificate of level B1 or B2. All certificates must be translated into German and notarized, Physical and mental health, Proof of impunity (police certificate)

Accordingly to statistics, only 50% of applicants get their nursing education recognized. The other 50% will need to pass additional exams and attend some courses. 

Such courses are –PAP is a preparation program for International nurses who wish to get registered as a hospital nurse in Germany. The program prepares the international students in the German language, subject oriented language (Nursing language), and know –how of theory, practical training like internships in German hospitals, senior care institution s or in outpatient care. Intercultural competences will also be taught. The curriculum is coordinated with the German ministry of health and social affairs. The participants are eligible to do “kenntnisprufung” after successful completion of the PAP course work. Having completed this exam, the foreign nurses are recognized and eligible to work as a hospital nurse in Germany. 

Nursing Jobs in Germany

Those Indian nurses who have more than three years experience do not have to do PAP. The Indian experience nurse are given one month training and appointed as assistant nurse in a leading private hospital In Germany. But to be registered Nurse in Germany they have to clear a licensing examination. 

Trainee nurses are paid between 1,040 and 1,200 euros per month. The starting salary for fully-qualified healthcare nurses is around 2,500 euros.

In case of Doctors they also a German language certificate of level B2 from India and in Germany FSP Doctors special training and Berufserlaubhis–Temporary license examination. With the help of this Temporary license only Doctors can apply for Job in Germany. Temporary license is valid only for two years, during this tenure theycan apply for permanent license, and after getting  the permanent license can apply for BLUE CARD ie PR.

Average salaries in Germany for doctors vary between 65,000 euro gross salary per year for an Assistenzarzt (assistant doctor) to 80,000 euro for a Facharzt (specialist). In hospitals, you are usually promoted according to the years of your professional experience, and your salary rises accordingly.
